# clsTaskCategoryCode

`clsTaskCategoryCode` represents a single, read-only row of `TASK_CATEGORY_CODE`, scoped to a source system, including its default action/priority codes and whether a notepad entry is required for tasks of this category.

## Purpose
- Load and expose one category code, its description, its owning source system, and its defaults for action/priority code and notepad requirement ([SQL-006](../../sql/SQL-006-select-task-category-code.md)).
- Feed `NotepadFlag`/`IsNotePadRequired` into descendant task logic that decides whether a notepad entry must accompany a task.

## Behavioral notes
- The class is `<Serializable()>`, consistent with remoting/session persistence of BOF objects across the web tier*.
- Used indirectly by [BR-005](../../business-rules.md#br-005-the-task-source-code-task-category-code-combination-must-exist) validation, though `clsTaskBusinessRules.ValidSourceCategory` issues its own ad-hoc query rather than calling this type — a flagged cross-layer coupling*.

## Constraints and usage notes
- Any attempt to use `CreateSQL`/`InsertSQL`/`UpdateSQL`/`DeleteSQL` on this type's `Criteria` throws `ApplicationException(clsConstants.Messages.InvalidSQLProperty)` ([BR-023](../../business-rules.md#br-023-code-tables-are-read-only-reference-data)).
